Wow... this just in.. someone lost fingers..
The downside of working in oil and gas industry.
It's not my product line actually... but it is a friend of
mine. This guy works for the Well Services product
line. They do well cementing basically. Got
some serious heavy duty equipment to pour them
cement down miles of earth. Anyways... There's this
oil and gas policy, popularly called HSE, (health,
safety and environment). Every company has it.
This guy didn't comply to our HSE guideline la.. and
the result is, 2 of his fingers got caught in the
cementing equipment. They could've been saved
had the Emergency Response Procedure had been
adhered... but they didn't. He was brought in a day
late. His fingers develop gangrene. The hospital
had to cut off two of his fingers.

Bad things can happen to good people. Sometimes
it happens to you or someone close to you. I'll try
and go see him tomorrow. Hope things are going
to get better somehow. sigh..
